The 国产探花 has been working with employers to develop a strong programme of apprenticeships in response to a variety of organisations’ staffing and development needs.
These include both commercial and public sector employers, looking for apprenticeships in health, construction and business.
The first higher apprenticeships have been developed at the university’s School of Health Sciences. More than 70 apprentices are currently studying for their Foundation Degree as part of the Healthcare Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship, and a new cohort of 37 Nursing Associate apprentices joined the university in March 2018.
Furthermore, the university launches its first Degree Apprenticeship in Healthcare Science in September 2018, and is developing Degree Apprenticeships in occupational therapy, podiatry, and a masters-level apprenticeship in advanced clinical practice, all planned to launch later in the year.
Other areas in which the university is developing degree apprenticeships include business, data analytics, construction, teaching and senior leadership, with a range of masters-level provision for professionals ready to launch including the Teacher Degree Apprenticeship and the Senior Leaders Degree Apprenticeship which offers an apprenticeship route to the university’s MBA programme.
The construction industry has been calling for Degree Apprenticeships to be developed in a range of areas to meet the growing skills gaps facing the sector. In response, the university has an Honours Degree ready to offer as part of the Degree Apprenticeship in Construction Site Management as soon as the associated National Apprenticeship Standard is approved, and a Masters level apprenticeship in Chartered Town Planning also in development.
