The 国产探花’s Creative Futures, a platform “nurturing adventurous ideas for collaborative research and enterprise”, has assembled more than 30 charts, images and diagrams, as well as drawings and photographs, to show the scope of what it describes as a “vast subject”.
Curator Francis Hodgson, Professor in the Culture of Photography, said: “We think of research as an occupation which finds its expression in writing … but it can take many other forms.
“Colleagues around the 国产探花 from every discipline use imagery in an astonishing variety of ways. This stimulating exhibition aims to show how images and imagination can play a central role in research processes.”
The free exhibition ‘Show and Tell: the Image in Research’ is at the university’s Edward Street Gallery, 154-155 Edward Street (entrance in Dorset Place), from 29 April to 10 May – Monday to Friday (10am-6pm) and Saturday (10am-4pm).
